Property angle will be probed in Nischol case
MUMBAI: Although the police were tightlipped about actor Navin Nischol's wife Geetanjali's suicide note, it is learnt that she had held Navin responsible.
"Navin, an alcoholic, is useless and is torturing me and that is why I am ending my life,"said her suicide note written neatly in English on a piece of paper found in her bedroom. Navin Nischol was unavailable for comment.

The police are also probing whether a property dispute between the Nischols and Navin's brother led to her death.
In February, Geetanjali had told TOI that Navin's younger brother Praveen had thrown her and her out-of-work husband out of their Mahim house.
She alleged that the flat was actually financed by Navin when he was a hit in 80's. Navin brought the flat in Praveen's name to avoid tax laws. However, Praveen had refuted this allegation.
Police sub inspector A Mulani told TOI, "We received information that a woman had committed suicide at Laxman Nivas. We rushed there to find Geetanjali hanging from the ceiling fan."Because of their differences, Navin used to stay separately in Pune and used to visit her very rarely.

Geetanjali, who was childless, stayed in this flat with two servants. These servants told police that they assumed Geetanjali was sleeping in the bedroom and were not aware of when she might have ended her life.
Navin, who was in Pune, arrived in Mumbai early on Sunday morning. "Based on Geetanjali's allegations, we called in Navin and questioned him.
Our officers are busy with the VIP bandobast at Hinduja Hospital. Once we the time, we will impose various sections of the Indian Penal Code on Navin."said Jeo Gaikwad, senior inspector at Mahim police station.
