MUMBAI: In an incident of road rage, a motorcyclist assaulted another two-wheeler rider at Goregaon East, resulting in the latter's finger getting fractured. The incident occurred at a traffic signal where the two had halted. An FIR was registered by Vanrai Police.

The complainant, Anup Singh, 27, works as a financial assistant. Around 11.15 am on Friday, Singh was headed to work on a two-wheeler from his Goregaon residence. He reached the Aarey check-naka signal and was waiting at the red light. According to his complaint, another motorcyclist was behind him and was furious that he couldn't move ahead.

Singh stated that the other motorcyclist, later identified as Abhishek Sharma, 41, threatened and verbally abused him. Following an altercation between the two, Sharma got off his bike, and a scuffle ensued. Singh said that Sharma assaulted him and twisted a finger on his left hand, resulting in a fracture.

Singh went to a private hospital for treatment and subsequently approached the Vanrai police to lodge a complaint. Sharma also reached the police station by then, as per the FIR. Further investigation is on.
