SSLC: 20,344 students take exam across 77 centres in Hassan
Hassan/Chikkamagaluru: The SSLC examination in Hassan and Chikkamagaluru district was successfully held on Day 1. In Hassan, 20,344 children took the exam across 77 centres. However, out of the 20,344 registered students, 633 were unable to take the exam due to a lack of hall tickets, due to attendance issues. A total of 19,711 students took the exam on Day One.
MP Shreyas Patel, who visited the examination centre at the Women's Govt College in the city, instilled confidence among the students. Deputy director for public instructions Chandrashekar said that to ensure students face no issues during the exam, arrangements have been made for drinking water, medical assistance in case of health issues, and, most importantly, tight police security.
The exams are being conducted transparently, with CCTV cameras installed everywhere. A webcasting control centre has been set up at the zilla panchayat. Parents should allow children to take the exams without stress, he advised.
Chandrashekar also mentioned that false rumours about exam paper leaks should not be believed. "Despite the Karnataka bandh called on March 22, there will be no issues for the children as there is no exam on Saturday," he said, responding to a question.
In Chikkamagaluru, the examination was held at 52 centres across the district. The education department has made elaborate arrangements for the students. However, no untoward incidents were reported.
