A month after inspection, community hall still awaits revamp
Noida: Residents of Sector 51 alleged that Noida Authority has not taken any steps to revamp the new community centre, which lacks a kitchen, fire safety measures, slabs and proper toilets. Authority officials visited the centre last month and took note of the complaints, but there has been no headway since.
Officials from work circle 3, including senior manager Rajkamal, manager Karan Singh Tyagi and assistant manager Pradeep Kumar, visited the centre in the third week of Dec last year.
During a meeting between the officials and residents, Manish Baweja, joint secretary of the sector's RWA, pointed out that the slope of the community centre's ramp was built wrong, while the building material was substandard. Officials then instructed them to break the ramp and make it again. Further, Sanjeev Kumar, RWA general secretary said the toilets at the centre are not fully functional and insufficient to cater to all the residents.
"We also requested for a kitchen on an urgent basis as it is a necessity during weddings and other events. Also, there is a need to install a grease trap according to the rules," said Kumar, who also asked for fire safety measures to be put in place, a false ceiling and redressal of seepage in the centre.
Officials said work related to the community centre will be taken up soon, once the paperwork is done.
