PATNA: The Kankerbagh police on Friday arrested seven youths from Indira Nagar locality while they were planning to eliminate Satish Singh, mukhiya of Kamtachak under the Gopalpur police outpost. Police also seized arms and ammunition from their possession.According to sources, a police team, led by Kankerbagh officer in-charge Ramakant Prasad, acting on a tip-off, carried out a raid at Road No.
2 at Indira Nagar and arrested seven youths from there.
Prasad, later, told TOI that the arrested youths had been identified as Ritesh Kumar (Kankerbagh), Vijay Kumar (Changar), Aashish Kumar alias Sonu and Shipu (Phulwarisharif), Akbar (behind IGIMS), Dharmveer (Maner) and Praveen Kumar (Munger). He said the police also seized a powerful hand grenade, one .32-make pistol, three cellphones and seven live cartridges from the possession of the arrested youths.The OC further said that the arrested youths revealed that they had been called by one Pappu Singh, son of former mukhiya of Kamtachak, to eliminate mukhiya Satish Singh. "Praveen Kumar is expert in manufacturing arms while one of the arrested youths is a supplier of arms and ammunition to different criminal gangs. We are trying to ascertain the links of these youths with other criminal gangs operating in the district," the OC said.
