PATNA: It was jubilation all around with city students coming out with flying colours in the CBSE's Class X exam and at least 800 of them scoring 90% and above.
What added to the celebrations was the fact that the 90 percenters had not secured just a touch above 90%. Many of them scored high nineties with quite a number of them crossing the 97% mark.
Radiant International School stopper Madhur Parashar fetched 97.8%.

"Focus on basic concepts and presenting answers in a correct way" is the success mantra Parashar wished to share with students aspiring to score high.
The second and third toppers of this school __ Mayank Prakash and Aishwarya Verma __ were not far behind with 96.6% and 96% respectively.
Khagaul DAV topper Trisha obtained 97.6% while Aman Adarsh with 97.2% and Vikas Kumar with 96.6% ranked second and third in the school. As many as 94 students of the school have scored above 90%. "Trisha is a very hard-working child and good guidance at her school helped her script the grand success," Trisha's beaming mother Mahima Mishra told TOI.
In Gyan Niketan, Nishant Shukla with 97.4% topped the school to be followed by Aakash Sinha (97.2%) and Swarnava Banerjee (96.8%). Nishant has already started preparations for the IIT-JEE.

B D Public School had a tough competition with the difference of marks of the top two students being less than half a percentage. While school topper Narendra Kumar secured 97.4%, Nitesh Kumar, the second ranker, got 97.2%. Kishore Kunal, the third ranker, was not far behind with 96% score.
The situation was no different at Notre Dame Academy and Ishan International Public School. In these schools, the top three rankers got above 96%. Saumya Swaroop (96.8%), Ridhi Kapoor (96.6%) and Ayesha Khan (96.4%) were the top three Damians while Ankit Sarkar (96.8%), Piyush Baivaw (96.6%) and Avneesh Kumar (96.4%), in that order, topped Ishan International Public School.
In Delhi Public School, as many as 119 students secured above 90%. Akhshay Amitabh and Karan Rai topped the school with 96.8% each. Sanu Vashishtha and Swati stood second with 96.4% each while Deeksha Tripathi and Shrishti Gandhi ranked third with 96% each. Ujjawal of the school ended up fourth with 95.8%.
Rahul Bhardwaj and Junaid Ahmed were school toppers of DAV-BSEB, each scoring 97%. Tulika (96.8%) and Neyshith Samir (96.2%) ranked second and third.
Rahul had an advice for his juniors. "Never ignore any subject." Junaid, on the other hand, felt one should go for regular studies.
Loyola High School students also did well with Abhishek Rai and Manish Kumar Verma obtaining 96.6% marks each. Kumar Vivek (96.4%) and Anurag Das Gupta (96.2%) finished second and third in the school.
Shipra was the school topper at St Michael's with a score of 96%, followed by Abhishek (94.6%) and Shambhavi (93.2%).
Fortythree students of Krishna Niketan scored 90% and above with Surabhi Srivastava topping the list with 96.4%. Shruti Singh and Saumya of the school fetched 96.2% each while Nandita ranked third with 96%.
International School topper Shimona Shriya scored 96%. She was followed by Aishwarya Joshi and Sarmin Falaque with 93% each and Soumya Verma with 92%.
Abhishek Ranjan (95.33%), Pranay Kumar Choudhary (95.16%) and Arpit Sinha (94.83%) bagged the top three positions in R P S Residential School.
Thirty of the Baldwin Academy students secured 90% with Deepti Deepa topping the merit list with 96%. While Pawan Kumar (95%) stood second, Rishabh Jha and Abhiraj Kumar finished third with 94.4% each.
Ravi Ranjan Patel (96%) topped Patna Central School. He was followed by Naila Nayab who scored 95.8% and Abhinay Kumar and Ashwani Kumar who fetched 95.4% each.
Apurva Verma was the school topper at St Karen's Secondary School with a score of 97%. Fiftysix of the 273 school students secured 90% and above, said school principal Kunjachan K K.
Bibhor Srivastava was the topper of Shivam School with a score of 96%, followed by Nikita Sinha (95%) and Puja Srivastava (94.8%). Sanu Priya (94.2%) was the topper of Premalok Mission School while Bharti Kumari (92.6%) topped St Dominic Savio's.
Abhishek Anand (95.6%) and Anshu Kumar (95%) were the top two students of Ekalavya Educational Complex while Harshit Anand and Shashi Kant Gupta followed them with 94.2% each.
While Ruchika Sinha (94%) was topper of Vidya Niketan Girls' High School, Nikhil with 92% marks topped the merit list of May Flower School. At Leed's Asian School, Kumar Saurabh with 95% emerged topper while the top position among Modern School students was grabbed by Priyanka (92.6%).
At Kendriya Vidalaya (KV)-Khagaul, Kumari Swati and Satique Jamal scored 92.8% each to emerge toppers. Neha Rai (94.4%) was the school topper of KV-Danapur Cantonment and Avanish Kumar (95%) of KV-Bailey Road. He was followed by Vivek Kumar and Manika Shanker, both having 94.8%, just a touch over the third topper Tushar Sinha (94.6%). Ankit Kumar Jha was the school topper of KV-Kankerbagh. He was followed by Aditya Prateek (94.2%) and Natasha Prasad (93.8%).
Shashank Mishra was the topper of Army School Danapur with a score of 94.2%. Sonal Singh and Rani Kumari scored 93% each while C Varun ranked third with 92%. Kumar Saurabh was A V N English School topper with 96.5%. Prashant Kumar Das (94.7%) and Aditya Suman (94.5%) ranked second and third here.
