CBI arrests insurance official

PATNA: In a trap case, the CBI on Wednesday arrested a senior assistant of National Insurance Company, Kishanganj, Abhijeet Sarkar, for demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 from one Ajay Agrawal, a resident of Purbpali road locality of Kishanganj.
Sarkar had earlier demanded Rs 20,000 from Agrawal for clearing his insurance claim related to his car that had met with an accident near Ghoshpokhar in Darjeeling district.The surveyor of Purnia and Siliguri, after inspecting the accident site, had referred the case to National Insurance Company for clearing his insurance claim.
Sarkar later agreed to receive Rs 15,000 as bribe, but Agrawal complained to CBI about it. Subsequently, the CBI investigated the case and having found the bribery demand to be true, laid the trap and arrested Sarkar.
