Patna: Former students of Don Bosco Academy (DBA) walked down the memory lane at the first alumni meet of the school held on Sunday evening.
About 70 Boscoites of the 1995 batch assembled for the alumni meet convened by three of their batchmates – Vikash Kumar,
Rahul Sharma and Anshuman Thakur. “We first thought about an alumni meet in December last year and then got into talks with our friends and the school authorities for the event to materialize,” Kumar told TOI.
With 2015 being the 20th year of the passing out of the 1995-batch students, we planned a reunion and got in touch with our friends through social networking sites, WhatsApp numbers etc, said Kumar, adding, “Some of our teachers were also present at the event to encourage us. We also discussed ways of giving back to our alma mater.”
Fun games, songs, sher-o-shayari, a DJ floor and individual performances made the evening an entertaining and memorable one as the former students relived their bittersweet memories of the school. “This year, we kept the programme limited to 1995-batch students. However, we have made plans of reaching out to students of other batches and make our alumni meet an annual event for all passouts of the schools and their families,” Kumar said.
The organizers had also printed customized T-shirts for the occasion besides souvenirs and mementoes for the participating students. Siwan SP Vikash Burman, Ernst and Young consultant Anshuman Thakur, businessman Rishi Jaiswal and several other illustrious alumni were present on the occasion. The evening concluded with a dinner party for the guests. The former students also bonded over an informal dinner at a city-based hotel on Saturday evening.
