Four men attack medical store employee, rob cash Rs 14,920 in Pune

PUNE: Four men attacked a 42-year-old employee of a medical store on the pretext of purchasing 50 liters of sanitizer and robbed cash Rs 14,920 from the cash drawer. The incident happened at MediPlus store at Sainikwadi in Vadgaonsheri last week.
Sub inspector Arvind Kumre on Tuesday said, “The store remains open 24/7. A man posing as a customer visited the store and asked for a sanitizer bottle.

After the employee Ramesh Wani (42) offered him the bottle. The man told him that his manager wants to purchase 50 liters of sanitizer and requested him to have a conversation with him before finalizing the deal.”
Kumre said, “Wani-the lone employee on duty stepped out of the store and met the person posing as manager and another person standing at some distance. The duo engaged Wani into a conversation and attacked him.”
“Two other men barged into the store and robbed cash Rs 14,920 from the cash drawer but Wani resisted them and raised an alarm. The duo attacked him and sped away on motorcycle. Their accomplices took to heels,” he said.
Wani has given a description of the four men stating that they were between 20 and 27 years. One of the men robbing the cash had covered the face with cloth, “he added.
A complaint relating to armed robbery was lodged.
