Police have booked an unidentified man for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old student and stealing her cellphone worth Rs 5,000 from a house on Senapati Bapat Road on Tuesday.

PUNE: Police have booked an unidentified man for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old student and stealing her cellphone worth Rs 5,000 from a house on Senapati Bapat Road on Tuesday.
The CCTV footage of the building has recorded the image of the suspect. The Chatushrungi police have launched a search to trace him. R S Hushar, sub-inspector of the Chatushrungi police station, said the complainant is pursuing her MSc degree and residing as a paying guest along with her friend in Senapati Bapat Road.

"Around 4am on Tuesday, she woke up after hearing some noise and saw a man standing outside the window," Hushar said.
She said after seeing the man, the complainant went to shut the window panes and the suspect allegedly molested her. "The student raised an alarm and alerted her friend and other paying guests," she said.
She said the complainant and her friend went out to check the CCTV. "When they returned to the room, the complainant found that the suspect had made away with her cellphone worth Rs 5,000," she said.
"The man is visible in the footage. We will send the photograph of the suspect to all the police stations and the colleges in the area," she added.
