Man injured as tempo hits two-wheeler

A cable operator travelling on a two-wheeler was injured when his vehicle was hit by a tempo at Dandekar bridge on Friday afternoon. The police have identified the victim as Abhay Kulkarni (37) of Kothrud.

PUNE: A cable operator travelling on a two-wheeler was injured when his vehicle was hit by a tempo at Dandekar bridge on Friday afternoon. The police have identified the victim as Abhay Kulkarni (37) of Kothrud.
According to investigating officer Navnath Bhosale of the Dattawadi police station, Kulkarni was travelling on an M-80 vehicle from Shastri road to Panmala via Dandekar bridge.

When the tempo hit the two-wheeler, Kulkarni got thrown off the vehicle and received injuries on his face and head.
Kulkarni is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. His condition is reported to be out of danger.
The tempo driver fled from the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. The police have seized the tempo, Bhosale added.
The police have booked the driver under the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
