Victims of Bastar conflict & violence want Chhattisgarh govt to continue massive anti-Maoist operation, says CM Sai

RAIPUR: A delegation of victims of Maoist violence from Bastar region on Thursday have appealed the govt and Governor of the state to continue the ongoing anti-Naxalite operation in Bijapur without any interruption, stating that they have suffered the real brunt of Naxalism by losing their limbs, lives or a loved ones and the offensive shouldn’t stop based on the demands by certain outfits.
The delegation met Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Governor Ramen Deka and submitted a memorandum.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai told the reporters in Raipur that he met the victims and they have objected the role of those advocating for cease fire in favour of Maoists and trying to raise objection from Raipur to Delhi, against the ongoing operation in Bijapur. The victims of Maoist violence have questioned where these stakeholders were when innocent people were being killed by the Maoists and their lives shattered in IED blasts.
Chief minister said that the delegation including those who had lost vision and their lims came from Sukma and Bijapur, urging to continue the ongoing massive anti-Maoist operation on the Karegutta gills on borders of Bijapur and Telangana.
The development comes soon after the political parties from Telangana and activists have chipped in demanding that the operation should be put on hold and that the govt should come forward for peace talks as a response to Maoists’ initiatives on cease fire.
CM said that the victims complained against those trying to stop the operation, never visited them to know what they were going through.
