Rajkot: Four persons were arrested on Thursday for allegedly robbing a man of Rs 5 lakh cash on Gondal-Jamkandorna road in Rajkot district on April 25.
The Gondal taluka police arrested Jitudan Jesani (24), Madhvi alias Mahi Agarwat (33), her husband Ajay Agarwat (30) and Kalpesh Agarwat, all residents of Rajkot.
According to a police complaint filed by victim Ajay Patel, a contractor from Bhesan taluka of Junagadh district, Madhvi had contacted him over mobile phone and introduced herself as
Puja.
They started chatting over phone for some time. Later the duo started video chatting and also exchanged nude pictures.
Madhvi invited Patel to meet her near Gondal on April 25. After Patel arrived, Madhvi asked him to take her for a ride on his bike towards Jam Kandorna road. Soon, the other three accused intercepted Patel in a car and accused him of kidnapping Madhvi. They thrashed Patel and robbed him of Rs 5 lakh cash, which he was carrying with him, along with his mobile phone.
According to police, Madhvi was a habitual offender and was booked in the past in two similar cases.
