RAMGARH:
NREGA commissioner
Ajay kumar Singh on Wednesday said Ramgarh district was at the bottom among 24 districts of the state in terms of implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA). He was talking to newsmen after holding a review meeting of NREGA with the district administration. "I came here to find the reason why NREGA is a flop show in Ramgarh district," Singh added.
NREGA commissioner said panchayat system in the district is very poor and even basic infrastructure was not available in the panchayats.
"District administration has been asked to create basic infrastructure in panchayats using NREGA," he added.
He said Ramgarh district would get Rs 8 to 10 crore soon for NREGA. Officials of Ramgarh have complained of non-cooperation of Chitarpur branch of State Bank of India, which is said to be a reason for delay in payment of wages to job card holders.
