Showcause issued to 72 IOs

Ranchi: SP (rural) Sumit Agrawal has show caused 72 investigating officers (IOs) of various police stations for laxity in investigation of cases. The SP stated that action would be taken against the IOs if their replies are not satisfactory. The IOs have not disposed of a single case in the last five months the SP stated adding that negligence in investigation denies justice to the victims. He said that their performance has been judged keeping in view submission of case diary, disposal of cases and their engagement in law and order duty.
