JAMSHEDPUR: Despite the downpour, the turnout of people, particularly tribals, was significant at the Gopal Maidan to get a glimpse of PM Narendra Modi.
“I have been here since 9 am keenly waiting for the PM to arrive,” said college student Bijay Sundi, who came from adjoining Rajnagar in Seraikela on a bike. “I am not a BJP supporter but I have an affection for Modiji,” he said.
Likewise, Siba Soren, in her late twenties, said she is not a BJP activist but a supporter of Champai Soren, the former CM. “I was personally interested in seeing Modiji closely. So, came here amid rain,” said Siba, a resident of Chota Gamharia.
The enthusiasm among tribal people was so much that they walked through the muddy ground to get closer to the dais to have a look at the PM.
Several were seen standing on the chairs in the rear of the German hangar tent structure to have a glimpse of Modi. tnn
