KALYAN: Four workers were injured when plywood and other materials fell on them during the centring work of a slab in the parking area of a 39-storey under-construction tower in Kalyan. Three of the injured sustained minor injuries and were sent to hospital after first aid, while one was admitted to hospital due to more severe injuries.
The incident took place at Kalyan's under-construction Tharwani Majestic Tower at Jhulelal Chowk. Ten to twelve workers were engaged in centring work in the parking area of the building when some bamboo slipped, causing all the plywood and materials used to make the slab to fall, trapping seven to eight workers.
An MNS functionary, Shrutik Patil, who was passing by the neighbourhood, heard the sound of the falling materials. He said that he immediately reached the spot after hearing the noise and, with the help of the building staff present, rescued some people who were then admitted to hospital. Patil mentioned that some people suffered minor injuries, while one sustained a serious injury to his leg.
Anil Tharwani, owner of Tharwani Realtors, said, "The small incident happened during the centring work in which only two people were injured, who were released after first aid treatment."
