THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kamal'sCelluloid has won the best film award, instituted by the Kerala Film Critics Association. Kamal bagged the best director award for the same movie while Ozhimuri, directed by Madhupal, is the second best movie.
Actor Lal has been selected as the best actor for 2012 for his role in Ozhimuri while Shwetha Menon was selected as the best female actor for her performance in movies Ozhimuri and Ithra Mathram.

Actor Nedumudi Venu has been selected for the Chalachithra Rathna award for his overall contribution to the Malayalam film industry over the past many decades. Music composer Jerry Amaldev and actors Jayabharathi and Poojappura Ravi have been selected for Chalachithra Prathibha award for their commendable service to the industry.
Vineeth was selected as the best supporting male actor for Attakadha and Bavuttiyude Namathil while the best supporting female actor award went for Mamta Mohandas for her roles in Celluloid and My Boss.
The other awards are: Best lyricist: Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma (Ayaalum Njanum Thammil); best music composer: M Jayachandran (Celluloid); best male singer: Sreeram (Celluloid - Kaatte Kaatte); best female singer: Vaikom Vijayalakshmi (Celluloid - Kaatte Kaatte).
