Saritha made calls to home minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Con woman Saritha S Nair seems to have maintained close links with not only the personal staff members of chief minister Oommen Chandy, but also with home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. Details of Saritha's mobile phone bill in January prove that she had contacted the minister on his personal number four times between January 23 and 28.
Interestingly, a couple of calls to Thiruvanchoor were made after calls to Tenny Joppan, the aide of chief minister Oommen Chandy, who has been arrested in connection with the case.

There is also evidence that Saritha contacted V K Raveendran, private secretary to the home minister, twice on January 21. The phone bill of Saritha, containing details of phone calls made to Thiruvanchoor, was made public by a private news channel on Tuesday.
It is also learnt that the special investigation team has got evidence to prove several calls had been made between Saritha's number and the official mobile phone number of Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan during February to May.
Reacting to the report, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said the special investigation team was free to inquire into the details of his phone calls. He told reporters that as a minister he had to attend several calls every day and was not sure whether Saritha had called him.
Meanwhile, not satisfied with the statement of Thiruvanchoor, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan demanded his resignation. "Thiruvanchoor should reveal the conversation details between him and Saritha. He is trying to fool the public with lies. He had lied regarding his relationship with starlet Shalu Menon as well," VS alleged in a news conference here on Tuesday.
On Monday, Shalu Menon's mother had disputed Thiruvanchoor's claim that he had paid a random visit to Shalu's home while on his way to Amritanandamayi math. She had told reporters that Thiruvanchoor had come for the house warming of their house and spent nearly two hours there. Achuthanandan had alleged that Thiruvanchoor also tried to destroy evidence including photographs and video footage of the house warming. He also said the deeds of chief minister and home minister have caused shame to the state, urging them to resign at the earliest.
