Help desk at passport office

Trichy: Haj aspirants who do not have passports can apply for it now and a special help desk has been opened at the Trichy office, said passport officer Anand Ramasamy. According to the Haj committee advisory, the process for inviting online applications for Haj 2023 will open shortly. Only applicants who possess machine-readable valid passports will be eligible to apply, the officer said.
Those who possess non-machine readable passports and passports expiring in a year may apply for reissue of passports in advance, he added. Assistance will be extended for expeditious issuance of passports by reserving appointment slots, opening a facilitation counter (special Haj help desk) at the main office at 7th Cross, Thillai Nagar. Applicants should come to the office with a copy of the acknowledgement slip/online application sheet (ARN sheet), Anand further stated.
