Hande murder case: Gangster Mukesh Harjani's father held

Mukesh's father Daulat Harjani helped the accused and had actively participated in the meeting held to plan the murder of Ramesh Hande which was executed on November 17.

VADODARA: Gangster Mukesh Harjani's father has been arrested in connection with the sensational Ramesh Hande murder case. According to the police, Mukesh's father, Daulat Harjani allegedly helped the murder accused and was also present in the meeting where the conspiracy to kill Hande was hatched.
Daulat's name cropped up during the interrogation of Rajesh Tamatar, who was arrested in connection with the murder.

Tamatar's police custody remand ended on Friday and he was sent to judicial custody.
Deputy commissioner of police (crime) A K Yadav said Tamatar had revealed that Daulat had taken him in a car to Halol where a meeting was held to bump off Hande. Daulat had actively participated in the meeting to plan the murder which was executed on November 17.
Daulat is a resident of Warasiya area in the city and has been named in several cases earlier too. He has been accused of having been involved in bootlegging, robbery and assault.
So far, four persons including Daulat and Tamatar have been arrested in connection with the Hande murder case. The other two being Sanjay Dave and Sanjay Paul. Three others including Mukesh Harjani, Chhotu alias Riyaz and Pappu Sharma are on the run.
