Varanasi: Former chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Aniruddh Yadav will be questioned in the commission’s LT Grade Examination (2018) paper leak matter. The police on Monday issued notice to Yadav, summoning him to appear before the crime branch within three days for investigation.
Yadav (62) had retired from the UPPSC on July 1. He has been replaced by IAS Prabhat Kumar.

The police had arrested the key accused in the case, Kolkata-based printer Kaushik Kumar Kar and UPPSC examination controller Anjulata Katiyar, on May 28 and May 29, respectively. Later, probe team had sought permission from Yadav, then UPPSC chairman, for questioning the employees but he denied.
Yadav had then claimed that UPPSC is an autonomous institute and police cannot demand documents or quiz staff.
“In view of the facts that came to light during investigation of the case, it is essential to question then UPPSC chairman during whose regime the question papers were leaked. He will have to appear before the crime branch within the given time,” SSP Anand Kulkarni told TOI on Tuesday.
The LT grade examination was scheduled on July 29, 2018. The question papers were printed in Kaushik’s printing unit. He had allegedly sent his employee Ashok Dev Chaudhary to Varanasi with leaked papers of Hindi and social studies.
