Four deaths were reported during immersion of Ganesh idols on Thursday. In the first incident, two youths slipped and went missing in Krishna river near Amaravati during immersion.

In the first incident, two youths slipped and went missing in Krishna river near Amaravati during immersion. While police have found the body of Balusupati Vijay Bhargav (28), search is on to trace Siripurapu Mallikarjuna Rao (27).
After the immersion at Dhyanabuddha Pushkarghat, the two friends went to take a bath, but slipped into the deep end of the river.

Bhargav ran a hotel in Lemalle village. The missing Mallikarjuna Rao worked in a private hospital in Narasaraopet.
In Vizianagaram, the immersion ceremony turned tragic for two kids, who drowned in a canal near Karakam village under Cheepurupalle mandal of the district. The deceased were identified as M Sandhya (13), a class IX student, and Y Kaushik (9), who studied in class V.
Police said a group of women along with their children had gone to the canal for immersion of Ganesh idols on Thursday evening. While taking a dip in the canal after the immersion, they failed to notice Sandhya and another girl Lakshmi drowning in the waters. Kaushik, who was nearby, jumped into the canal to rescue the two girls. He managed to save Lakshmi, but drowned while trying to save Sandhya.
