GUNTUR: Keeping in view of the services extended by the police in the fight against Covid-19, the Guntur Round Table (GRT-86) has set up touch-less hand wash stations in all the police stations in the city. The peddle-operated hand wash stations were inaugurated in the police stations on Wednesday.
Station House Officers (SHOs) Firoz (Lalapet), Suresh Kumar (Old Guntur), Koteswara Rao(Nagarampalem) and sub-inspector Mahitha launched the wash stations in their respective police stations.
Senior police officials thanked the executives of the GRT-86 for their gesture as the wash stations would greatly reduce the chances of getting their staff contracting the coronavirus.
GRT president Raavi Balakrishna said that they have decided to gift the wash stations to the police stations as the police were handling huge public both inside the containment zones and outside on the streets. He said that the safety of the police is very important in protecting the public from the Covid-19. He explained that their members Padma Pujitha Veerendra, Mohan Rao, Thomas Sebastian, Puliverathi Ramalingeswara Rao and Satyanand sponsored the wash stations. GRT projects director Lanka Kranthi Sekhar was also present.
