“My father would be proud to see my name on the Wall of Fame at the institute,” Musthafa said, thanking his batch of 2007 for nominating him.

Musthafa, a school dropout who went on to study at IIMB, is the son of a daily wager from a remote village in Kerala. He wanted to be an entrepreneur at a very young age and started an enterprise that sold idly-dosa batter jointly with his cousins while doing MBA. The preservative-free batter for idlis and dosas became a hit in

states and his business grew fast.

The other two recipients are S Vaidyanathan (PGP 1992), co-founder, The Ganga Trust, who is wheelchair-bound but has left no stone unturned to help others with disabilities, and MV Rajamannar (PGP 1985), chief marketing and communications officer and president-healthcare business, Master Card.

Prof G Raghuram, director, IIMB, presented a report on IIMB’s growth at the event. The theme for the Foundation Day Lecture was ‘real empowerment’ which was delivered by chief guest Malavika R Harita, founder-CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Focus, at the IIMB auditorium.
