The University of Wollongong India (UOW India) has introduced the Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship, aiming to foster enhanced female engagement in India’s technology sector.
This scholarship is open to applicants for the Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) and Master of Financial Technology (Extension) programmes, commencing in November 2024.
Eligible candidates will be automatically considered for a 50% tuition fee waiver, which will be granted to three top-performing students based on merit.
The curriculum comprises emerging tech concepts such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data analytics, arming students with the essential skills required to stay ahead of the curve.

UOW’s Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship: Check eligibility


To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must begin their Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) or its extension program at UOW (India) in 2024, excluding those pursuing a Graduate Certificate in FinTech. Candidates are required to have excellent academic performance, with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75 or its equivalent. Eligibility is restricted to Indian citizens who are not receiving any other scholarships, sponsorships, bursaries, or discounts, except stipend-based scholarships. Full-time enrollment at the UOW India campus is mandatory.

To retain the scholarship, students must maintain a WAM of 75 or higher in each trimester of their degree program. The program spans a duration of two years and is exclusively available at the Indian campus.

Benefits of UOW’s Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students enrolling in the Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) or the Master of Financial Technology (Extension) programs, beginning in November 2024. Eligible candidates will be automatically considered for a 50% tuition fee waiver, which will be granted to three exceptional students based on merit.
The fee waiver is distributed across Trimesters 2, 3, and 4 as follows:
  • Trimester 2: 50% of tuition fees waived
  • Trimester 3: 50% of tuition fees waived
  • Trimester 4: 100% of tuition fees waived

Nimay Kalyani, Director of the UOW India Campus, highlighted that the programme aligns with the university's mission to enhance gender diversity and empower women to thrive in technology-driven fields.
