Bar on drones during PM Narendra Modi & Rahul Gandhi rallies in Imphal

IMPHAL: The state government has prohibited flying of drones at two places in Imphal where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address poll rallies.
Rahul will address a Congress rally at Hatta Kangjeibung on Monday, while Modi will speak at a BJP rally at Luwangpokpa cricket ground on Tuesday, both in Imphal East district.
A notice issued on Sunday and signed by additional deputy commissioner (Imphal East) Polem Lenin Singh said the use of unmanned aircraft systems (drones) will be strictly prohibited on Monday within a radius of 5 km of Hatta Kangjeibung without prior permission as per The Drone Rules, 2021.
“No individual shall carry out any activities in contravention of these rules and penalties shall be imposed to the violators as per the extent provision of relevant ules and law,” the notice further said.
