Manipur polls: Man held for stealing ballot paper in Imphal

IMPHAL: Police have arrested one person for stealing a ballot paper from the office complex of Imphal West deputy commissioner on Thursday, an official statement said.
The person, identified as Naresh, pocketed a ballot paper bearing serial number 0001while commissioning of EVMs and VVPATS for use in Imphal West district’s Keishamthong seat was going on.
The paper was meant to be used for ballot unit (BU) of the constituency, a statement issued by the district election officer (DEO)said, adding that the individual is a representative of RPI (A) candidate of the seat. The individual is now in police custody.
