IMPHAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land in
Imphal on Tuesday to address a
BJP rally for the
Manipur assembly polls, a leader of the saffron party said.
Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to canvass for party candidates in the state on Monday.
The BJP has fielded its candidates in all 60 assembly seats of the state. Senior vice president of Manipur unit BJP, N Nimbus Singh, told this reporter on Friday night that the PM will arrive in Imphal on Tuesday on a daylong visit to the state.
Modi will address a BJP poll rally at Luwangpokpa cricket ground at Luwangsangbam in Imphal East district’s Heingang, the home seat of chief minister N Biren Singh, Nimbus said, adding that a meeting of the party was convened to discuss the preparedness of the high-profile visit.
Meanhwile, in a video message released to the media on Friday by Manipur PCC, Rahul said, “Together, we are going to build a new vibrant Manipur, that is going to show India the way forward, Congress laklagani (Congress will come back to power).”
