NEW DELHI: Warangal Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 17 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in the state of
Telangana. It comprises seven Assembly segments including Ghanpur(station), Palakurthi, Parkal, Warangalwest, Warangaleast, Wardhanapet and Bhupalpalle.
Main partiesThe Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in 2019 Lok sabha election in Telangana, had won 9 of the 17 seats,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won four seats, Congress 3 and
Asaduddin Owaisi was the only AIMIM candidate to emerge victorious from his Hyderabad constituency.
In the 2023 assembly elections Congress won 64 seats, BRS won 39 seats, BJP 8 and AIMIM got 7 seats. CPI won 1 seat.
Lok Sabha 2019 election resultIn the 2019 elections, the Warangal parliamentary constituency recorded a total of 1,666,770 eligible voters. Dayakar Pasunoori, representing the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, emerged victorious with a total of 612,498 votes. Meanwhile, Dommati Sambaiah, the candidate from the Indian National Congress, secured second place with 262,200 votes, trailing by 350,298 votes.
Voting date and resultThe 17 constituencies in Telangana are scheduled to go to poll on May 13 in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 with over 3.17 crore voters eligible to cast their votes.
