Anjan Dutt steps out of Kaushik Ganguly’s film ‘Asukh Bishukh’
Anjan Dutt who was supposed to play a key role in Kaushik Ganguly’s upcoming film ‘Asukh Bishukh’ has now backed out of the project, and that too just the day before the shoot started on June 12. The last-minute dilemma has forced Kaushik Ganguly himself to slip into the role Anjan was supposed to play. There’s another interesting catch in it. We hear Kaushik’s son Ujaan will be behind the camera when his father will give shots.
Meanwhile, Anjan Dutt has clarified that due to date issues, he had to step back at the last moment. He is currently busy with the post-production of his Mrinal Sen tribute film which is in the last phase.
‘Asukh Bishukh’ is already making headlines because of its ensemble cast. The film stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ishaa Saha, and Ankush among others in crucial roles. Kaushik’s film will also mark the debut of seasoned actor Sayani Gupta in Bengali cinema. Billed as a social satire, it will be interesting to see what role Sayani plays in the film, especially after her stellar performances in critically acclaimed films like ‘Parched’, ‘Jolly LLB 2’, ‘4 More Shots Please’, ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’ and recently ‘Zwigato’.
As the title suggests, ‘Asukh Bishukh’ will address the various complications and hurdles we face in hospitals and the corrupt state of the medical industry. Although the film deals with a serious issue Kaushik has decided to make it a light-hearted dark comedy with subtle humor. Interestingly, Kaushik’s son Ujaan has jointly penned the dialogues of this film alongside his father. The music will be composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.

Kaushik Ganguly, known for delivering critically acclaimed films with serious subjects, is returning to the comedy genre after a long time. “This is a social satire. The issues addressed in the film are quite serious but we want to show them without being too preachy and adding subtle humor. The audience has always loved to see social satires,” shares the director.
Meanwhile, Kaushik Ganguly’s latest release ‘Ardhangini’ has received an overwhelming response from the audience. Starring his wife Churni Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan, and Kaushik Sen in the lead, the film is being hailed for its sensitive storyline and terrific performances from the actors. Kaushik Ganguly has another Mrinal Sen tribute film ‘Palaan’ which is expected to release later this year.
