Dev became the latest Byomkesh Bakshi on the block with Birsa Dasgupta's ‘Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo’, which received a warm welcome at the box office since its release on August 11. Alongside him,
Rukmini Maitra played Satyabati, the iconic detective’s wife. The onscreen pairing of Dev and Rukmini extends beyond the silver screen.
The duo has been dating for several years.
Not only have they collaborated on multiple projects, but they also share a love for travel. However, the most important question that lingers in the minds of fans and industry insiders alike is whether the couple plans to formalize their relationship through marriage. When asked about this in a recent interview, Dev gave a nuanced take.
He affirmed his faith in the institution of marriage and emphasized that both he and Rukmini hold traditional and cultural values in high regard. He stated, "Marriage is a vital aspect of our lives, but it isn't the solitary focus for us." Sharing his thoughts further on the subject, Dev highlighted the significance of trust in a marital relationship, saying that he has complete trust in Rukmini. According to him, timing is essential, and both of them feel that they will tie the knot when they believe they are mature enough for such a commitment.
At the moment, their hectic work schedules are keeping them engaged. Dev has his plate full with a range of exciting projects. He will be starring in the much-anticipated period drama ‘Bagha Jatin’, scheduled for a
Puja release. He is also teaming up with Avijit Sen in ‘Pradhan’, a collaboration that reunites the successful trio of producer Atanu Raychaudhuri, Avijit Sen, and Dev himself. This upcoming film will feature a robust supporting cast, including the talented Paran Bandyopadhyay.
On the other hand, Rukmini is immersed in her own professional commitments. She is working alongside actor Jeet in ‘Boomerang’. Her film ‘Binodini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan’ is set for a December release, and she is also prepping for a project with Ram Kamal Mukherjee, titled ‘Draupadi’.
