Kanchan Mullick was the first choice opposite Rituparna Sengupta in ‘Dharasnan’

Director Haranath Chakraborty is best known for giving so many commercial hits but his upcoming Bengali film ‘Dharasnan’ delves into a different genre of content-driven social drama. The message he wants to give to the society with this film is no doubt interesting but the main attraction is the casting.
Kanchan Mullick has done mostly comic roles so far but in ‘Dharasnan’, Haranath is set to give a huge surprise.The popular actor will be seen in a totally different avatar opposite none other than Rituparna Sengupta. He will reportedly be seen as a spineless husband named Shantosil and the director admits when he took the final decision about the casting, Kanchan’s name came into his mind as an automatic choice to play the character of Shantosil. He then reportedly discussed this with Rituparna, the leading lady of the film and the actress was more than convinced to share screen space with Kanchan.
Apart from Kanchan Mullick and Rituparna Sengupta, another popular actor Shaheb Chatterjee has also been roped in to play a key role. ‘Dharasnan’ is slated to release on March 30, 2018, setting up a clash with Jisshu Sengupta and Koel Mallick’s ‘Ghare And Baire’.
