Saptaswa Basu’s directorial debut ‘Network’ sees
Saswata Chatterjee as a film director suffering from a terminal disease and avenging those who had once betrayed him. Be it the protagonist, antagonist, or even a comic character, Saswata has the reputation to pull off any critical character with accuracy and control. Arguably the most talented contemporary actor Tollywood has ever seen, Saswata Chatterjee is as a byword for a reel chameleon.
Throw him anything, and he would deliver a character to remember.
Playing a character with negative shades is not an easy job and it ‘Network’ Saswata essays the character with loads of grey shades. So, what made him say yes to Saptaswa Basu who is making his first full-length feature film.
“We have always likes stories of revenge and love to see the evils getting punished. For years, people have loved to see this kind of stories. However, the way the plot for revenge has been scripted in ‘Network’ is really unique for not only Bengali cinema but for Indian cinema also. It was really great to see a young director like Saptaswa Basu working with such a vision. For me, a director has to visualize his film before making it and I have seen that in Saptaswa. I was really surprised to see the cut of the trailer. The technical team has done a brilliant job in weaving the story. Let’s see how the audience accepts when the film releases in theatres,” explained Saswata.
Beside Saswata Chatterjee, the thriller also stars Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Bhaskar Banerjee, Indrajit Mazumder,
Saayoni Ghosh, Rini Ghosh, Eshani Ghosh and others in pivotal roles.
