Casting Couch is all gung-ho about the premiere of their play on September 21. Director Gulshanara Khatun is all the more excited because the subject they chose affects many. “Casting couch is prevalent in every field. But, it’s a common notion to blame the entertainment world for its practice. Employees in the corporate world and academicians are also victims of such practices. Anybody can come under its grip,” the director told us.
This Bengali production will deal with the questions of integrity and character. Written by Dibyendu Tarafdar, the play is poised to question the act of keeping silent on such crucial issues. The team hopes it will create a snowballing effect that will give voice to many concerned. The play has music by Jaydeep Sinha, vocals by Jaydeep, Afreen Kazi and Subhryajyoti Sen playing the sarod.
