Hollywood legend Michael Douglas to receive Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at 54th International Film Festival of India

The illustrious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award is set to honor the renowned Hollywood actor and producer, Michael Douglas, during the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, shared this exciting news, highlighting the significance of IFFI 54, a prominent event on the global cinematic calendar.
The festival will witness the presence of the celebrated actor, joined by his accomplished spouse, actress, and philanthropist Catherine Zeta Jones, along with their son and actor, Dylan Douglas.In addition to this distinguished guest list, Indian film producer and founder of Percept Ltd., as well as the Sunburn music festival, Shailendra Singh, celebrating his 25-year journey in the Indian Film Industry, will also grace the event.
Minister Anurag Thakur expressed his delight through a tweet, emphasizing Michael Douglas's deep affection for India and the country's eagerness to showcase its rich cinematic culture and unique traditions to the world.

Meanwhile, Michael Douglas has mesmerized audiences with his magnificent performances in the film "Wall Street (1987)," "Basic Instinct (1992)," "Falling Down (1993)," "The American President (1995)," "Traffic (2000)," and "Behind the Candelabra (2013)"
As part of the 54th IFFI, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones will also participate in a special "In Conversation" session, hosted by National Award-winning film producer Shailendra Singh. Singh, known for his significant contributions to Indian cinema, is the creative mind behind Percept Ltd. and the Sunburn music festival. His critically acclaimed productions, including "Phir Milenge" (2004) and "Kanchivaram" (2008), have garnered widespread recognition and even a National Film Award for Best Film ("Kanchivaram").
For the unversed, the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, established during the 30th IFFI in 1999, is presented to individuals who have significantly enriched and elevated the world of cinema with their exceptional contributions.
On the other hand, the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award has previously been presented to luminaries such as Bernardo Bertolucci (IFFI 30), Carlos Saura (IFFI 53), Martin Scorsese (IFFI 52), Dilip Kumar (IFFI 38), Krzysztof Zanussi (IFFI 43), and Wong Kar-wai (IFFI 45), among other influential figures in the film industry.
