The billionaire, Jeff Bezos asked a multi-million question to his followers on X (formerly Twitter), ‘Who’d you pick as the next Bond?’ which created an insurmountable amount of buzz among the 007 fans.
Recently, Amazon’s MVM Studios acquired creative rights for the James Bond Franchise, forming a new venture with previous holders Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. To celebrate the win, the company's founder shared a boasting post asking whom the audience would like to see as the exceptional British spy.
People did not hesitate to suggest quite well-known, or, as some might say, well-looking actors for the role. Henry Cavill was the top answer from the comment section, while Tom Hiddleston, Michael B. Jordan, Tom Hardy, Theo James, and Idris Elba also appeared.
To one’s surprise, Melania Trump’s name appeared once or ten times. While the netizens listed out names for 007, a user suggested directors for the franchise, “Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, & Christopher Nolan all wanted to make James Bond movies, but were turned down by the Broccolis. You could make it a verrrrry interesting decade for James Bond.”
Bezos getting creative rights might be one of the best moves according to social media users, as the recent film by the franchise ‘No Time To Die’ managed to earn $800 million at the box office. 007 has given some great dialogues, memories, and iconic depictions of taste, including a signature martini vodka being ‘shaken, not stirred.’
However, the fans are scared about the story getting completely butchered, and the narrative being changed after the creative rights were given away.
Broccoli stated that their production company will focus on different projects, simultaneously, ensuring that the new Bond will be a man in his thirties to have a longer run in the theatres.
