Real Housewives star Matt Byars has passed away at the young age of 37.
According to the U.S. Sun, Matt died of suicide on November 21, 2024, according to Maryland's Chief Office of Medical Examiner. The spokesperson told The U.S. Sun, "He died of multiple blunt force injuries. The manner is suicide." An autopsy report has now been done.
Byars' friend and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga took to social media to mourn the loss. On Insta, she wrote, "Matt - Why didn't you tell me Matt?"
"I'm heartbroken. Your personality was infectious. Your jokes - you always had them.
"You should have done stand-up - I know it was your dream.
"My heart hurts Matt."
Gorga continued, "Because earlier this week you didn't tell me.
"I know life was tough - I know - Thank you for bringing me my very 1st performance of 'ON DISPLAY' - you and I - WE ARE LOYAL.
"They don't make them like us. I wish I could have saved you. Thank you for the memories. Go fly - Go make them laugh."
Byars, who appeared on the third season of RHOP, was introduced to viewers through Karen Huger, one of the show's main cast members. Huger had shared that she had known Byars since he was a teenager, highlighting their long-standing friendship.
