Ariana Grande aka Galinda Upland and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp starrer ‘Wicked’ is soon to be released digitally. The magical musical drama will be made available for streaming in 2025, and the details of the same are mentioned below:
According to the Digital Spy report, after a massive box office success, wherein the movie was able to mint over $570 million globally setting multiple records, this beloved Broadway classic will be available for streaming in early 2025. However, this doesn't mean that the movie has gone out of the theatres, it is still enjoying a festive run in cinemas.
Digital Release in the UK announcedThe fans of the OZ drama in the UK will be able to stream the movie from Friday, January 3, 2025. Universal confirmed the release via Prime Video’s listing page.
Egar fans who don’t enjoy waiting for long can also pre-order the movie. In addition to Prime Video, the pre-order option is available on iTunes.
Besides pre-orders and OTT releases, the movie can be viewed via physical media. Reports suggest that the film will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD in the UK. However, Universal has yet to confirm the release date of the physical format.
At the same time, A 4K Steelbook edition, was announced earlier, which got sold like hotcakes on various platforms.
US and UK OTT releases are aligned?Though the UK release date has been announced, the confirmation on the US schedule is awaited. Reports are suggesting that the OTT release of ‘Wicket’ in the US could align with the UK launch or arrive sooner.
Nevertheless, while the OTT release is announced, the US audience can pre-order the movie on Prime Video and iTunes.
