Beyoncé’s 'Cowboy Carter; tour drops its ticket prices as seats remain unsold, fans who bought expensive tickets earlier are upset

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour is facing challenges as the opening date approaches, with thousands of tickets remaining unsold, particularly for the initial Los Angeles shows. Despite Live Nation's claim of high sales, resale prices have plummeted, leaving fans who purchased tickets earlier feeling frustrated. Giveaways and promotions have sparked speculation about the cause of the slow ticket sales.

Pop icon Beyoncé is just days away from starting her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour, but things aren’t going exactly as expected. Although there was a lot of excitement when tickets first went on sale — so much so that Ticketmaster’s website crashed — reports now suggest that many seats are still unsold, especially for the opening shows.
As per a report in The Independent, the first concert of Beyoncé’s tour is scheduled for April 28 in Los Angeles. However, it was revealed that over 3,200 seats remain unclaimed for that night. While general admission tickets are still available at $85, resale tickets are going for as low as $35, which shows how much the prices have dropped since the initial sales.
The situation isn’t much better for the final two nights of the tour in Los Angeles, where more than 3,800 standard tickets are still unsold for each show. Even on the East Coast, the turnout doesn’t seem very promising. Beyoncé’s concert at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which was added later due to supposed high demand, still has around 5,500 tickets available. In Atlanta, Georgia, where she is set to perform on July 14, more than 5,800 tickets remain unsold, including over half the floor seats — which are the most expensive and offer the best views of the stage.
Despite these figures, event organizer Live Nation told Billboard that 94% of the tour’s tickets have already been sold. They also confirmed that two new shows in Las Vegas have been added, increasing the total number of tour stops to 32.
Meanwhile, some fans are unhappy, especially those who bought tickets during the presale. Many of them shared their frustration online, pointing out that they paid much higher prices earlier, only to see ticket costs drop dramatically later. One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that they felt stuck with expensive “nosebleed” tickets while many cheaper seats were still available. Another fan said they regretted using their presale code, noting that floor tickets now cost less than what they paid for upper-tier seats.
Others speculated that the low ticket sales might be the reason behind the sudden giveaways and promotions. One tweet even claimed that 88,000 tickets across the tour remain unsold.
Beyoncé made headlines earlier this year after winning Best Country Album at the 67th Grammy Awards for Cowboy Carter. Her reaction when Taylor Swift announced her name — standing frozen in disbelief — became a viral moment from the night. While her album has been a major success, the slow ticket sales for her tour are raising eyebrows.
With only ten days left before the tour begins, many are curious to see whether last-minute buyers will help fill the empty seats or if the concert series will continue to face hurdles.
