Jennifer Lopez mocks the US economy by sharing a nostalgic meme on social media; netizens cheer the singer

Jennifer Lopez, the ‘Diva’ of Hollywood, seems to be planning to rule the meme culture as well, with her humorous satire. The American singer shared a meme, referencing her popular song from the 2001 - and the internet is ablaze with laughter.

In an Instagram post shared by JLo, she wrote, “Due to inflation my love will now be costing a thing”. The 55-year-old turned her song ‘Love doesn’t cost a thing’ from 2001 into a transformational economic satire on the conditions the United States is currently facing.

Lopez, with the net worth of $400 million, pointed out the concerns regarding economy amid the rise in consumer prices due to tariff rates applied by the POTUS, Donald Trump. The fans quickly swarmed to the comment section and cheered the ‘On The Floor’ singer.

“Period! I’ve been saying this! Lol,” one user exclaimed. Another cheered, “That’s right sister!" A third commented, “Laughed. Out. The economic stress that Lopez has currently is selling her $68 million house that she bought with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. While he is eager to lower the price, Lopez thinks that eventually the house will sell out and isn’t considering lowering the price even by a dime. “Jennifer thinks they can get more money for the home, so she wants to keep the price as is. But the real estate market is not there and it’s not selling,” an insider revealed to US Weekly.
Regarding Trump and the tariffs, he recently marked that it would be impossible to conduct all the requisite meetings. Well, Trump did mention that he is in talks with China - but U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and China government officials have said otherwise, according to Daily Mail.
