A classical moment!

doweshowbellyad=0; Radha Mangeshkar (TOI Photo)Classical music is indeed a class apart and Lucknow got to savour the rich repertoire of Hindustani classic at a cultural evening organised by a cultural body of performing arts.
The highlight of the evening were the live performances by Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar, his daughter Radha Mangeshkar and famous ghazal singer Rajendra Mehta.Also present at the function were famous bhajan singer Anup Jalota and Neena Mehta.
Hridaynath Mangeshkar lit the inaugural lamp following which all the artistes were felicitated by Virendra and Neelam Dixit (secretary and director, respectively, of the cultural organisation). DR Sabra Habib���s amusing compereing punctuated with interesting anecdotes added an extra zing to the evening.
Rajendra Mehta rendered many soothing ghazals like Samay ke ek taare, Roshni Sachitra ho gayi and Taj Mahal mein Aa jana while Hridaynath Mangeshkar���s soulful rendition of Suniyo ji araj left the audience spellbound. Mangeshkar���s daughter Radha, following the family tradition, sang a few clasical compositions while aspiring singer Sparsh Dixit too sang some beautiful compositions.
