'Aashiqui 2' music has perfume of love in its core

When producers Bhushan Kumar and the Bhatt brothers (Mahesh and Mukesh) set out to make Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri, and featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, they had to live up to the benchmark set by the hugely successful Aashiqui (1990).
Says Bhushan, “Aashiqui was my father (Gulshan Kumar’s) first feature film. It was his dream that came true and it gave the audience the kind of music that is unparalleled.We needed a worthy contender for the original. I’m happy to take my dad’s dream forward.”
Talking about the music, he says, “When Bhatt sahab, Mohit and I brainstormed on the music, we knew people were bound to compare the music of the 1990’s film with the current one. We had to make an album that was as good as the first one.”
Says Mahesh Bhatt, “The music of Aashiqui 2 has perfume of love in its core. Mohit has drawn ‘gold’ from his music team.”
