Life is full of matches and patches. Meaning: In the film industry, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies.
Another proof of this is in the Sunil Shetty-Tinu Verma patch-up. After growling at each other with all the might their muscle could muster, the two macho men have made up.
The battle of words, that the two engaged in just recently, has made its way into the history books as another filmi dialogue.
1x1 polls
Thankfully, the two Goliaths never battled with biceps, or else it would''ve been yet another eruption of Vesuvius.
But their mutual respect - not to add professional need - has ended up in a handshake of the toughies. Action hero Sunil and fight director-turned-director Tinu are now doing a film together at last.
Called Baaz - A Bird In Danger, the movie teams the two as actor and director. Incidentally, Tinu will also be producing this film, which will pair Karisma Kapoor with Shetty. Dino Morea and Jackie are also in the film, which has music by Ismail Darbar and lyrics by Mehboob.
If one remembers correctly, the war had erupted after Tinu accused Sunil of committing to and then backing out of his Maa Tujhe Salaam (later to be replaced by Arbaaz Khan).
Sunil, on the other hand, had categorically denied ever having committed to the movie, citing date hassles. It had exploded in an ugly war of words in the media. But this film, launching on July 30, obviously means that the two have buried the hatchet (and not in each other).
Sunil was the first to tell us that the duo was to work together again. "What happened was plainly professional. We are both emotional people and reacted emotionally to the situation. It was because our dates didn''t match that I couldn''t work in Tinu''s first film. And he was tense as he had to make a good first film, which he did. It was a spot reaction and not a problem as such. But life is all about moving on. So here we are, ready to give you a knockout punch with Baaz..."
Tinu seconds Sunil''s stand. "There wee some date problems because of which Sunil couldn''t do Maa Tujhe Salaam and then there was a major misunderstanding to aggravate issues. I too am short tempered and was in a hyper state of mind at that time. So we landed up saying a few unpleasant things to each other. But we sorted things out during Sunil''s last schedule in New Zealand. I apologised for all that I''d said to him and he hugged me. Our differences are past now and all our energies focussed on our next venture together."
So we await Tinu''s second directorial and first home production, Baaz - A Bird In Danger. But if you are as curious about the title as we are, listen to the fight director''s parting punch.
"Karisma Kapoor is the bird in this one." But that''s something we all knew already, na?
