Directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru express a desire to cast Salman Khan in 'Sanam Teri Kasam 2'

The 2016 romantic drama 'Sanam Teri Kasam,' featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has garnered a dedicated fan base over the years. With discussions about a sequel gaining momentum, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have addressed the possibility of involving Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in 'Sanam Teri Kasam 2.'
In a recent interaction with Filmygyan, the directors responded to fans' suggestions about casting Salman Khan in the sequel. Radhika Rao expressed optimism, saying, "Arey yaar, aapke munh mein ghee shakkar, but vo apni destiny ke maalik hain," which translates to, "May it happen as you say, but he is the master of his own destiny." Vinay Sapru added, "Please, aap hi unhe bata dijiye. Unhe ye clip tag karke sir ko bheja jaye. Salman sir, please okay boliye," urging fans to convey their wishes to Salman Khan and request his participation.
Sapru further highlighted Salman Khan's significant influence on their careers, referring to him as their "mentor." He reminisced about showing Salman Khan the trailer of 'Sanam Teri Kasam' in 2011, just days before its release. Impressed by the trailer, Salman had described it as "mind-blowing" and predicted the film to be a "super hit." However, upon learning about the imminent release date, he humorously remarked that they were "doomed" since there was little time for promotion.
The directors also revealed that they are planning to release the sequel by 2026. Sapru mentioned that the narratives for both the first and second parts were developed simultaneously. He pointed out that the final scene of the original film, where Inder's character (played by Harshvardhan Rane) approaches a tree and speaks to it, was a subtle hint towards a sequel.
While the prospect of Salman Khan joining the cast remains uncertain, the directors' enthusiasm and the film's enduring popularity have heightened anticipation for 'Sanam Teri Kasam 2.' Fans are eager to see how the story unfolds and whether the superstar will play a role in the upcoming installment.
