A still from Cinemawalar Mundopat. Big screen ventures are still giving her a big miss even after her much-acclaimed performance in Chander Bari. But Sarbori Mukherjee is taking big leaps when it comes to her small stints.
CT caught up with her on the sets of Sushantao Basus weekly mega, titled, Cinemawalar Mundopat.

With a script by Kheyali Dastidar, this venture also has Sumith Samaddar and Debranjan Nag. It is like a critique of recent Bengali films, explains the actor while adding in the same breath, We arent ruling out all recent ventures as unwatchable.
On the contrary, we are pinpointing the good things too While Sarboris character is called Monika, Sumiths and Debranjans are named Barun and Natabar. Monika aspires to be a Suchintra Sen and Barun dreams of casting the Uttam Kumar spell. Natabar, who otherwise sells ghoti gorom, wants to make a great director.
The entire thing unfurls through the conversations of the trio. Having floored audiences with her Lata, the domestic helps, performance in Labonyer Sansar, Sarboris comic timing now seeps through in Raja Gaja where she essays the character of Paira. She is a domestic help with five failed marriages behind her. But she still dreams of becoming a heroine, says the actor.
This lady has more in her professional kitty. Apart from essaying Tanias role in Khuje Berai Kachher Manush, I get to play a sex worker Shefali in Kakhono Megh Kakhono Brishti. But I will be trying out a negative shade in a serial. Directed by Prabir Ganguly and based on Ashapurna Devis story, this one is called Sotyasotto, Sarbori signs off.
