Jr NTR sees Sridevi's essence in Janhvi Kapoor's performance for 'Devara: Part 1': “The way she smiles..”

Sridevi, who began her acting career as a child artist in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, rose to fame with several successful films alongside Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, NT Rama Rao, Chiranjeevi, and Venkatesh.
Now her daughter Janhvi, seems to have inherited her mother's talent and screen presence. Her performance in Devara is eagerly awaited by fans who hope to see glimpses of Sridevi's magic on the big screen once again.
Talking on the similar lines in a recent chat hosted by ‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga with the cast of the film Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, Jr NTR expressed his surprise at the uncanny resemblance between his co-star Janhvi Kapoor and the late legendary actress Sridevi. The actor shared that during a photoshoot for the film, a particular picture of Janhvi sitting on a boat and looking at the camera reminded him so much of Sridevi.
"She looked so much like Sridevi garu. In certain angles, she just looks like her. We tried to capture a bit of that also on camera but I don't think you can capture that in angles. But, it is in the way she performs, or in the way she smiles. It brings that reminiscence of Sridevi garu back," said Jr NTR.
Janhvi, who is making her Telugu debut with Devara, responded to Jr NTR's observation by saying, "It is weird for me to say this, but I feel that more when I perform and speak in Telugu. I don't know if that makes sense. It just felt more like home to me."
Devara, which was originally planned as a single film, has now been split into two parts, with the first installment set to release on September 27, 2024. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. Apart from this, Janhvi has also signed on for another Telugu film directed by Buchi Babu Sana, co-starring Ram Charan.
