Nandita Das and husband Subodh Maskara take Cineplay to New York

Nandita Das and husband Subodh Maskara, whos venture Cineplay, which transmutes theatrical productions into cinematic experiences, are taking their project across the pond to New York. Their first attempt in the new genre, titled Between the Lines, written by Nandita and Divya Jagdale, has been shortlisted by the Museum of Moving Images (MOMI), which will screen the film on October 25.
Subodh, who also acts in the film, told this diarist, “It's an extremely well-curated programme and to make it there in itself is a major honour. We are consistently reaching a diverse audience and gathering feedback so we can work not only on our content, but also with the format as well."
Nandita will fly to New York where she will engage in a Q and A session following the screening of the “cineplay", which is about a lawyer couple battling a case as rivals in a courtroom. “It's one of the biggest screens in the US and we can't wait to see how the viewers respond and engage with Between the Lines,“ Subodh said.
