The 1978 superhit Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se will be yet another film added to the list of sequels in Bollywood. And reportedly, the film’s original lead actors, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Ranjeeta Kaur, will once again share screen space after 36 years in the film’s sequel, titled Jaana Pehchana.
Ankhiyon Ke Jharonko Se, which was loosely inspired by Erich Segal’s popular romantic novel Love Story, was directed by Hiren Nag and produced by Rajshri Productions.

For the sequel, Sachin will not only star in the film but also direct it.
A source informed that Sachin has been actively involved in the sequel. He has written the screenplay and is expected to sing a few songs for the film as well.
When contacted, Sachin confirmed, “It feels wonderful to return to Rajshri Productions. It’s like a family reunion. The challenge for the sequel will be to delve deep into the nuances of the relationship between the two protagonists, Ranjeeta and myself.”
The source revealed, “Ankhiyon Ke Jharonko Se documented the beautiful romance between Arun (Sachin) and Lily (Ranjeeta) and ends with the death of Lily.
Jaana Pehchana introduces Asha (Ranjeeta), an author, who has an uncanny resemblance to Lily. She walks into Arun Mathur’s life to write his biography.”
The music by Ravindra Jain in the 1978 film was a runaway hit and this time around the composer has been roped in again to add tunes to the sequel.
Jaana Pehchana is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. “We are aiming to release it in mid 2012,” added Sachin.
