It hasn't been long since
Ram Gopal Varma has become a controversial filmmaker who is known for his impactful works in
Indian cinema and has recently announced his upcoming film, 'Syndicate.'. Since the announcement, speculation is being made among fans and social media users regarding its cast and production details.
Following the announcement, rumors began circulating that iconic actors
Amitabh Bachchan, Venkatesh, and
Fahadh Faasil would be part of the film's key cast. However, Varma himself addressed these speculations in a statement to movie critic Kamaal R Khan, clarifying that while 'Syndicate' is indeed in the works, the rumors about its cast and production house are completely unfounded.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Yes, it’s true that I am working on Syndicate, but the speculations about the cast and production house are COMPLETELY FALSE."
The 'Satya' director announced the film on social media, calling it his most ambitious project to date, focusing on a terrifying organization that poses a threat to India's very existence. He is expected to explore themes of crime and terror through a story that reflects contemporary societal issues. The film will portray how criminal organizations have evolved over time, from street gangs in the past to modern corporate syndicates.
Varma expressed his desire to redeem himself for what he termed his "cinema sins" from previous years with this single film. He promised that 'Syndicate' would provide a fresh perspective on the complexities of crime and its cyclical nature in society.
He is expected to announce the official cast and other details of the film soon.
